In a dress code and staging that smacked of imminent war, Bush rallied US troops, telling them that war in Iraq would be "not to conquer but to liberate". Also, considered as a sign of real preparations, the US sends desert trained ground troops into the Gulf.
Some reports claim that US troops are already inside Iraq preparing for war.
Skeptical about UN interviews with Iraqi scientists, the US administration is about to make a formal decision about a war on Saddam.
US airplanes continue to drop leaflets on southern Iraq urging Iraqis to fight Saddam and advising Iraqi soldiers to lay down their arms.
The follow up committee created by the Iraqi opposition conference is set to hold its first meeting in northern Iraq, in the Kurdish safe haven.
