Democracy Promotion

The Democracy Promotion initiative is a series of student-run projects which help establish and run student newsletters and debating societies at Iraqi universities. The projects aim to encourage students to practice freedom of speech, tolerate the opinions of others, and it gives them a medium through which to debate and practice mini-democracy by working as part of a constitutional university society.

Iraqi Constitution

The 'Iraqi Constitution' initiative is a series of projects that educate, and stimulate debate and the exchange of ideas on issues concerning the permanent constitution.

Iraqi Voices

In early 2002, the IPO launched its project 'Iraqi Voices', which sought to aid ordinary Iraqis to voice their opinions in the media and to lead the debate on the war to oust Saddam Hussein.
